New NRF funding programmes in response to the NRF Vision 2015

Please note that the Focus Area Programme (FAP) is being phased out. In its place the following funding programmes will be phased in during 2008 and 2009:

  • Incentive funding for rated researchers
  • Competitive support for unrated researchers
  • Blue Skies Research Programme
  • Collaborative Research Grants at National Research Facilities
  • Funding formula for research at National Research Facilities
  • Community engagement research

All existing Focus Area Programme commitments will be honoured!
