Research Equipment

  • Laser Rental Pool
    The NRF/NLC Rental Pool Programme is unique in South Africa with the aim to build and grow a sustainable corps of expert laser researchers in the country. This is made possible by a generous lease agreement between NECSA and the NLC, as well as funding by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) through the National Research Foundation (NRF).

  • Research Infrastructure Support Programme (RISP)
    The Department of Science and Technology has through its Research and Technology Infrastructure Strategy, created a programme to support research equipment by allocation of funds in its annual budget vote. This programme is implemented under the auspices of the National Research Foundation's Research Infrastructure Support Programme as National Equipment and Nanotechnology Equipment Programmes respectively.
