SAAO
The SALT Collateral Benefits Programme (SCBP) was established during the construction of the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT).
The objectives of this programme were clearly directed at the benefits derived by society from building this large telescope.
This programme is managed by the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in conjunction with various stakeholders focused on astronomy outreach to the broader South African community, through numerous public and education outreach activities.
