African Science Communication Conference
SAASTA hosts a biennial conference focusing specifically on the need to develop the field of science communication and establish collaborative networks on the African continent, engaging academics, universities, the public, science centres and private research centres, as well as industry, the media, policy-makers, educators and lecturers, professional scientists and science communicators.

SASCON (Southern African Science Communicators Network)
This is a free email network to promote interaction and collaboration in the field of science communication.

Media round tables
A media round table is an interactive form of media briefing, involving a cross-section of stakeholders to enable all perspectives or viewpoints to be expressed and discussed on an equal footing. The aim of a media round table is to improve the understanding of science and related issues by the media and their readers, and to promote the profile of SAASTA as the science advancement agency of choice.

Role-modelling campaigns
SAASTA role-modelling campaign aims to recognise professionals who excel in their careers in critically needed areas of mathematics, science, engineering and technology, as well as to expose learners to these career opportunities.
