Ordering Data from ICPSR

  • NOTE: To order data from SADA, please complete the relevant online data order form.
  • Should you have any other information or research-related query, please send an e-mail to sada@nrf.ac.za.

Ordering Information

Once a data set has been identified on the ICPSR web site, the online data order form available at http://www.nrf.ac.za/SADA/icpsr/icpsrorder.asp should be completed with the study number and/or title. SADA will thereafter download the data set and documentation, and send it to the user by either File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or post.

Alternatively, users can submit their data orders via fax, e-mail or post. Complete an ORDER FORM (download in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat format) before the data can be made available to you. A copy of the form can either be faxed, e-mailed or posted to SADA (see contact details below).

Data distributed by SADA can be supplied via FTP, stiffy disk or CD-ROM. View information on FTP procedures.

It has specific topical archives in the fields of health and medical care, gerontology, substance abuse and mental health, education and criminal justice.

ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods

The ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research offers a comprehensive, integrated program of studies in research design, statistics, data analysis, and social methodology. Basic methodological and technical training is offered, along with opportunities for advanced work in specialized areas. The Program also provides active participatory data analytic experiences that complement formal lectures and discussions.

ICPSR has been offering educational opportunities through the Summer Program since 1963, when the first cohort of 82 participants arrived in Ann Arbor for intensive training in quantitative methods. Thirty-eight years later, the Program continues to provide quality instruction and an impressive range of course options, though it has grown mightily. In recent years our annual attendance has consisted of well over 500 scholars representing two-dozen disciplines, approximately 200 institutions, and a score of nations.

Check the ICPSR summer program web site for scheduled course dates.
