Tips for searching
- A query can be a word or a phrase. But with these tips, you can expand the focus of your search for more complete results.
- Use the * as a wildcard. For example, chair* will find chair, chairperson and chairman.
- To search for all forms of a word use a ** example, in the form type sink** to find sink, sinking, sank, and sunk.
- Use AND if you want more than one word to be found on a page.
- Use NEAR, rather than AND, to find words close to each other. With NEAR, the returned pages are ranked in order of word-proximity.
- Use AND NOT keywords to exclude certain text from your search.
- Add the OR keyword to find all instances of either word or both
- Put quotation marks around keywords if you want the search to take them literally (as a complete phrase). For example "research and development" as opposed to research AND development.
- NOTE: You will get an error message unless you enter at least a 2-character search-string.
