“Relational well-being is profoundly important to me because I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and devastation that arise from social isolation and the lack of supportive networks. Growing up across different cultural landscapes has instilled in me a deep appreciation for building bridges and fostering meaningful connections. These experiences have nurtured a profound empathy for those struggling with mental health and have fuelled my passion for promoting initiatives that focus on the well-being of young people. In my native language, we say “nit moy garapou nit,” which translates to “humans are medicine and remedy for other humans.” This saying reflects my belief that we are each other’s relief and that our connections to one another are vital for healing and growth. Relational well-being, therefore, is not only a personal value but a critical component of a healthy and supportive community. Research and praxis need to reflect the diverse lived experiences of young people across the globe.”
