Chemical Sciences Dr Azile NqomboloDepartment of Chemical & Earth Sciences, University of Fort Hare Dr Nqombolo is a lecturer in chemistry at the University of Fort Hare. Her work investigates the ever-increasing global concern and need for sustainable and clean water resources. She is researching functional nanomaterials’ synthesis and characterisation for water remediation.She completed her BSc, BSc Hons, and MSc in chemistry at UFH and a PhD in chemistry at the University of Johannesburg. Her commitment to advancing her career research has led to the establishment of strong collaborative partnerships with the University of Johannesburg and the Agricultural Research Council. To date, she has published more than 22 articles and contributed six book chapters. In addition, she has served as a guest editor for Frontiers in Chemical Engineering and MDPI Membranes. She is a reviewer for several journals, including Chemistry Africa, STOTEN, MDPI, and the SA Journal of Chemistry.Dr Nqombolo is currently supervising three Master’s and three Honours students at UFH and co-supervising two PhD students at UJ. She has co-supervised one MSc and two PhD graduates to completion at UJ. For the latter, she is a researcher for a Water Research Commission-funded project awarded to UJ in collaboration with UFH and the Agricultural Research Council.
