1st A-Rating Professor David J. N. Limebeer Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering ScienceUniversity of Johannesburg Professor David Limebeer’s research is in the field of engineering dynamics and control theory. He obtained his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and completed both his MSc and PhD degrees at the University of Natal. He subsequently received a DSc from the University of London and an MA degree from the University of Oxford. He held a postdoctoral position at the University of Cambridge before joining the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at Imperial College London. He was also a Statutory Professor of Control Engineering at the University of Oxford. He is currently a Distinguished Professor in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at WITS. Prof Limebeer has supervised 31 PhD candidates and 19 postdoctoral researchers. He has published 250 peer-reviewed articles and two books and has held a number of consultancy posts at companies such as Ducati, Ferrari, GM and McLaren. His accolades include two South African Institute of Electrical Engineers Prizes and the O. Hugo Schuck Best Paper Award at the American Control Conference.
