P-Rated Researchers 2022 Associate Professor Jessica Auerbach Graduate School of BusinessUniversity of Cape Town Dr Jessica Auerbach is an anthropologist working in the emerging field of ‘knowledge mobilities’. She completed her undergraduate and Honours degrees at the University of Cape Town; MSc at Oxford University; and PhD at Stanford University. She held a position at a new Pan-African university in Mauritius before moving to a research position at the Mauritius Open University. She later joined Stellenbosch University as a Postdoctoral Researcher and then was appointed Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at North-West University. She moved to the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business where she is currently Associate Professor and Director of the MPhil in Inclusive Innovation. She is the author of two books – From Water to Wine: Becoming Middle Class in Angola and Archive of Kindness: The other side of the South African pandemic. She is an editor for the Journal of Southern African Studies and the Canadian Journal of African Studies. She is also an Iso Lomso Fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study and a Research Associate of the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
