Physical Sciences Ms Meladi Lerato MotloutsiCollege of Science, Engineering & Technology University of South Africa Ms Meladi Lerato Motloutsi graduated from the University of Limpopo in 2017 with a BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry and a BSc Honours in Chemistry, respectively. She completed her Master’s degree at the University of Johannesburg in 2019. She is currently enrolled with the University of South Africa for her PhD in Chemistry which focuses on wastewater recovery through membrane technology. The aim of her research is to fabricate PES membranes incorporating zwitterion-modified graphene oxide to enhance selectivity and antifouling properties during wastewater remediation. The fabricated membranes were used for treatment of abattoir and sewage wastewater. She currently has two manuscripts under review with a journal accredited by the South African Department of Higher Education and Training. Her work was presented at the WISA Water Reuse Symposium as well as the IWA Particles Conference, both in 2023. Her project also contributes to the Membrane Science and Technology (MST) Engaged Scholarship programme at Bull-Bull Village in the Blouberg Municipality, Limpopo.
