Ms Tandi MapukataNRF Head of Communications I am responsible for the visibility of the NRF brand as well as the management of the organisation’s reputation. We build and maintain platforms to showcase the societal impact of NRF-funded and NRF-conducted research. What inspired you to become the leader that you are today?Communications is both an exciting and challenging profession and offers numerous opportunities for practitioners to progress in the field. The most humbling feature about being a leader is the realisation that one’s success depends on the layers beneath them. I am alerted to that truth every single day, and would hope that everyone I have touched during my career journey has been left with a positive impression and hunger to also advance in their career.              What advice would you give to the next generation of women leaders? You are equal to the task. Just believe in yourself and be on the lookout for opportunities. The communications profession is not gender-biased at all.Â
