Dr Nastassia Thandiwe SitholeDepartment of Chemical Engineering Technology, University of Johannesburg, Engineering Dr Thandiwe Sithole is actively involved in applying cutting-edge and fundamental research at the interface of materials, environment, chemical and engineering sciences to develop low-cost, beneficial, and practical solutions to various water and industrial solid waste problems faced by our society worldwide. The main goal of her research is to develop zero-waste discharge models and value-added products from solid waste materials to be used in different building and construction applications, driven by the need to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for environmental sustainability SDG 6: Clean Water and sanitation and SDG 3: Good health and well-being. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Johannesburg. She has filed one patent and authored/co-authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications. She has supervised over 60 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
