ANNOUNCEMENT OF SUCCESSFUL APPLICATIONS FOR THE DSTI-NRF CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE (CoEs) FIRST-TIME MASTERS AND DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FUNDING IN 2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) and National Research Foundation (NRF) are pleased to announce the provisional awards for the DSTI NRF Centres of Excellence (CoEs) First-Time Doctoral Scholarships in 2025. The awards have been made according to the strategic objectives of the CoE funding instruments, the DSTI-NRF Postgraduate Funding Policy, the available budget and the funding decision by respective CoEs. Successful applications for DSTI-NRF CoE First-Time Masters and Doctoral Scholarships are listed in the Table 1 and Table 2. Candidates are either awarded at Full Cost of Study (FCS) or Partial Cost of Study (PCS).

Please note:

  • If your name appears in the tables below, you have been provisionally successful in receiving an award for 2025, provided that you meet the minimum requirements according to the NRF Postgraduate Scholarships Call for 2024, the Framework Document and the Conditions of Grant.
  • Successful candidates will be able to view and download their award letters in January 2025, via NRF Connect against their application.
  • Read through the Conditions of Grant and award letter documents carefully before accepting the award.

  • Should you not meet the relevant requirements for FCS or PCS funding, the NRF reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
  • Should you not meet the relevant requirements for FCS funding, the NRF reserves the right to change your scholarship to PCS funding.
  • Funds will only be released once the required compulsory documentation are received and are processed successfully by the NRF.
