Announcement of Successful Extension Applications for Centres of Excellence (Coe) Masters and Doctoral Scholarships for Studies in 2021

The National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) are pleased to announce the provisional awards for the DSI-NRF Centres of Excellence Extension Scholarships for both Masters and Doctoral Studies in 2021. The awards have been made according to the strategic objectives of the CoE Funding Instrument, prevailing postgraduate funding policies, and the available budget. The list of successful extension applications for CoE Masters and Doctoral Scholarships studies are listed under Documents on this page.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • If your name appears in the list, then you have been provisionally successful in receiving Extension Support (either an extension of the period or/and financial assistance) for 2021, provided you meet the minimum requirements according to the prevailing postgraduate student funding policies and Conditions of Grant (or contract signed with the CoE).
  • Successful candidates will be awarded their extension bursaries by their respective CoEs, and will contract accordingly.
  • CoEs will report on the bursaries award and progress of these students through the CoE’s Annual Progress Report.
  • If your name does not appear in any of the table below nor other lists of published outcomes for 2021 NRF Postgraduate Scholarships you have not been awarded an extension award for 2021.
  • Please note that postdoctoral extension applications were not approved, but recommended for consideration of renewal of contract and funding based on a motivation by the affected CoE.
