wpadmin Press Release December 10, 2021 The Board of the National Research Foundation (NRF) wishes to congratulate Professor Tinyiko Maluleke on his new appointment as Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). Professor Maluleke joins TUT from the University of Pretoria, where he currently holds the position of Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director at the Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship. Amongst his many achievements, he is also an NRF B-rated academic and researcher specialising in religion and politics, as well as Black and African theologies. Prof Maluleke has accumulated extensive managerial experience within the higher education sector. He served at the University of Johannesburg where he held the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Internationalisation, Advancement & Student Affairs; and at Unisa where he held the positions of Deputy Registrar, Executive Director: Research, Deputy Executive Dean: College of Human Sciences, and Dean: Faculty of Theology. He is a long-standing member of the NRF Board, having served nearly two terms, as from 1 October 2014. He is also a member of the Boards of student-funding NGO, “Get Me to Graduation”, and the MTN Foundation and is an elected member of the Academy of Science for South Africa.
