wpadmin NRF in the NewsPress Release October 26, 2023 The National Research Foundation (NRF), with its partners the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI); the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada; and the Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation (OATF), invite members of the media to a panel discussion that will explore the intersection of Oliver Reginald Tambo’s legacy and research in Africa. Themed Connecting the Dots: O.R. Tambo and Research in Africa, the panel discussion will take place at the NRF head office in Pretoria on Friday, 27 October 2023. Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Dr Blade Nzimande, will deliver the opening address, and NRF Chief Executive Officer, Dr Fulufhelo Nelwamondo, will present the welcoming remarks. The panel discussion is hosted as part of the O.R. Tambo Africa Research Chairs Initiative (ORTARChI) Annual Gathering, themed Championing Research Excellence in Africa which runsfrom 25-27 October 2023. ORTARChI is a bespoke research funding initiative established in 2018 to support research and human capital development on the continent. The initiative honours and promotes the legacy of the late Oliver Reginald Tambo, a luminary in the struggle against apartheid.
