wpadmin NRF in the News February 3, 2022 Scholarships to work towards your Master’s or PhD studies in the United States. The following opportunities are available: Visiting Student Researcher (VSR): VSRs conduct one year’s research at a U.S. institution towards their South African PhD studies. Current National Research Foundation (NRF) funded students are encouraged to apply. MA/PhD: Post-graduate students may apply for scholarships towards Master’s or Doctoral degrees. Scholarships are awarded for two years towards one degree – Master’s or Doctoral (renewable each year). Eligibility: Be a South African citizen or a permanent resident (minimum five years). For Non-Degree (Visiting Student Researcher) studies: Must be registered for a PhD with a South African university. Have a four-year Bachelor’s degree, BTech degree or a three-year Bachelor’s degree plus honors year when applying for Master’s. Have a Master’s degree when applying for a Doctoral degree.
