wpadmin NRF Awards March 29, 2021 Opening Date: Monday, 29 March, 2021 Closing Date: Friday, 30 April, 2021 Do you know of an up and coming researcher who stands head and shoulders above their peers; a researcher who has made a meaningful contribution to SA’s research environment and/or the development of the next generation of researchers; or an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to the development of science in and for South Africa over an extended period of time? Nominations are now open for the Special Award Categories of the 2021 NRF Awards. The awards not only celebrate the hard work of individual researchers, but also benefit the awardees’ institutions by growing its status among its local and international peers. The categories are as follows: Public Engagement with Research Award (includes a grant for research and engagement related activities of the awardees) Research Excellence Award for Next Generation Researchers (includes a R50 000 grant for research related activities of the awardee) Research Excellence Award for Early Career/Emerging Researchers (includes a R50 000 grant for research related activities of the awardee) Champion of Research Capacity Development and Transformation at South African Higher Education Institutions (includes R300 000 research grant) Science Team Award (includes R500 000 research grant) Information about the Special Award Categories, as well as the biographies of previous award winners, can be found at www.nrf.ac.za/nrf-awards. All nominations must be submitted to Anthipi@nrf.ac.za. It is important to note that all submissions received in 2020, will be processed parallel (but as a separate Call (2020) cohort) at the same time with the nominations for the 2021 Call. It is not required for nominees to update their submissions and theseshould not be re-submitted. Closing date for nominations is Friday, 30 April 2021.
