wpadmin NRF in the News June 9, 2021 The NRF has joined the global celebration of World Ocean Day with a special message from Dr Angus Paterson, Managing Director of the South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity (NRF-SAIAB). NRF-SAIAB has also brought to life the coelacanth story, Finding Old Four Legs: An adventure story of coelacanths and scientists. This was beautifully narrated by SAIAB’s in-house staff. We were reminded that this amazing, prehistoric creature has seen it all and still found a way to survive in spite of almost insurmountable odds that saw the disappearance of the dinosaurs and that by living a more sustainable life, we can contribute to seeing our precious species live for many years to come.
