wpadmin NRF in the News October 25, 2023 On 24 October 2023, the NRF’s Acting Executive Director, Dr Prudence Makhura and Ms Nombuso Madonda (Professional Officer), attended the 2023 FOSC General Assembly at the CIHEAM Bari Campus in Bari, Italy. The General Assembly, officially opened by CIHEAM Bari Director Maurizio Raeli, Dr Magdalena Gajdzinska of the European Commission, and Dr Maurice Héral from the French National Research Agency (ANR), preceded the Knowledge Hub and Training sessions organised for the funded R&I consortia projects and FOSC partners. FOSC is the ERA-Net on Food Systems and Climate, built upon and supported by the experience of the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security & Climate Change (FACCE-JPI) and the ERA-Net Co-fund LEAP-Agri. The FOSC consortium comprises 28 partners from Europe, Africa and Latin America and aims to contribute to the coordination and synergism between national and international research programmes that are relevant to food security under climate change. FOSC pulls together resources for a joint research programme and is supported by the European Commission through an ERA-Net Co-fund grant. Under FOSC, the NRF has funded nine collaborative projects, some of which are supported through the European Commission (EC) top–up funds.
