wpadmin GeneralNRF in the News October 3, 2022 Dr Nompumelelo Obokoh, Chairperson of the National Research Foundation (NRF) Board, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP), effective 01 October 2022. SACNASP is the regulatory body for natural science practitioners in South Africa, encompassing a wide range of scientific fields including all of the basic sciences and many of their applied derivatives. The mission of SACNASP is to establish, direct, sustain and ensure a high level of professionalism and ethical conscience amongst scientists. Dr Obokoh has also been appointed as Vice-Chair of CGIAR-Independent Science for Development Council (ISDC). The CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food-secure future dedicated to transforming food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis. ISDC is a standing panel of world-class scientific experts providing rigorous, independent strategic advice to the CGIAR System Council and other stakeholders. “Please join me in congratulating Dr Obokoh on these appointments, and in wishing her the very best of success in these roles”, said NRF CEO, Dr Fulufhelo Nelwamondo.
