wpadmin NRF in the News September 30, 2022 The National Research Foundation (NRF) wishes to congratulate Dr Phethiwe Matutu on her appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Universities South Africa (USAf), with effect from 03 October 2022. Dr Matutu, a mathematician by discipline, served as the National Research Foundation Group Executive: Strategy, Planning and Partnerships for the past five years where her contract ended at the end of July 2022. Dr Matutu succeeds Prof Ahmed Bawa, who has been at the helm of USAf since 2016. After close to seven years as CEO, Professor Ahmed Bawa hangs up his hat today, 30 September 2022.
