World Oceans Day: Revitalisation, Collective Action for the Ocean

The oceans play a major role in everyday life. They are the lungs of our planet and a major source of food and medicine and a critical part of the biosphere. South Africa is a maritime nation with a coastline of 2800km and lies at the interface of 3 oceans, Southern Ocean, Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. This national geographic advantage makes for a unique natural marine laboratory.
