Announcement of Successful Applications for Additional Extension Support Allocations for Masters and Doctoral Studies in 2021

In early January 2021, the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) made available additional funds to assist in closing the gap in the funding of DSI/NRF Postgraduate Student Funding specifically for Extension Support .The National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) are pleased to announce the provisional awards for additional Extension Scholarship for Masters and Doctoral Studies in 2021. Extension Support for Masters and Doctoral awards have been made according to the strategic objectives of the Extension Support for Masters and Doctoral funding instrument, the DSI-NRF Postgraduate Funding Policy and the newly advanced budget. The list of successful applications for Masters and Doctoral studies are listed under Documents on this page.

PLEASE NOTE:

• If your name appears in the list, then you have been successful in receiving an award for 2021.
• The NRF will forward Letters of Award to successful candidates by 18 March 2021.
• Once you have received the Conditions of grant (CoG), please read through the written agreement carefully, before accepting the award.
• All signed and completed documentation must be forwarded to the NRF via your university postgraduate funding office or research office or financial aid office.
• Funds will only be released once the completed documentation has been received by the NRF.
• Awards not taken up by 30 April 2021 will be automatically cancelled, unless otherwise approved by the NRF.
• If your name does not appear in the tables that follow, you have not been awarded a scholarship for 2021.
• Feedback to unsuccessful candidates has been provided to university postgraduate funding office or research office or financial aid office.
