Second Announcement of Successful Applications for Masters and Doctoral SA Research Chairs – 2021

The National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) are pleased to announce the provisional awards for Masters Scholarships for studies in 2021. The SARChI Scholarship awards have been made according to the strategic objectives of the SARChI funding instrument, the DSI-NRF Postgraduate Funding Policy and the available budget. The lists of successful applications for SARChI Masters and Doctoral Scholarships studies are listed in under Documents on tis page.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • If your name appears in the lists, then you have been provisionally successful in receiving an award for 2021, provided you meet the minimum requirements according to the NRF Postgraduate Scholarships Call for 2021, framework document and Conditions of Grant.
  • Should you not meet the relevant requirements for Full Cost of Study (FCS) or Partial Cost of Study (PCS) funding, the NRF reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
  • Should you not meet the relevant requirements for Full Cost of Study (FCS) funding, the NRF reserves the right to change your scholarship to Partial Cost of Study (PCS) funding.
  • Successful candidates will be able to view and download their award letters in December 2020, via NRF Online Submission System (tracking of application).
  • Read through the Conditions of Grant carefully before accepting the award.
  • All signed and completed documentation must be forwarded to the NRF via your University Postgraduate Funding Office or Research Office or Financial Aid Office. Funds will only be released once the completed documentation has been received by the NRF.
  • Awards not taken up Four (4) months after awarding will be automatically cancelled, unless otherwise approved by the NRF.
  • If your name does not appear in any of the table below nor other lists of published outcomes for 2021 NRF Postgraduate Scholarships you have not been awarded a scholarship for 2021.
  • Feedback to unsuccessful candidates will only be provided between January and March in 2021.
  • The NRF provides feedback to unsuccessful candidates via NRF Online Submission System (tracking of application).
