wpadmin NRF in the News August 10, 2021 Ms Cassandra Mfana has been appointed the NRF Board Secretary, effective from 02 August 2021. Ms Mfana is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa; a Certified Chartered Company Secretary; a Certified Ethics Officer; Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CGISA); and a member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Law majoring in Business Management, and a postgraduate LLB, both from the University of Fort Hare and is currently working on her LLM mini-dissertation with UNISA, entitled An Analysis of the Fiduciary Duties of Directors in the Public Sector Governance Framework. In addition to the above qualifications, Ms Mfana holds a number of certificates including the Practical Legal Training Certificate (UNISA and Law Society of South Africa); Company Secretarial and Governance Practice, CGISA (formerly CIS/CSSA); Certificate in Compliance Risk Management from University of Johannesburg; as well as a training in Ethics from Stellenbosch University Business School and the Ethics Institute. Her corporate experience was gained in both the private and public sectors including Ntinga O.R. Tambo Development Agency SOC Ltd, where she served as Company Secretary, Legal and Compliance Advisor. Prior to that, she was a Statutory Specialist for Governance, Risk and Compliance, as well as Company Secretary for Woolworths Holdings, Ltd. She also worked for African Equity Empowerment Investment Ltd as an Assistant Company Secretary, and served her articles with Bate Chubb & Dickson Inc. Share on Facebook Share on X
