wpadmin NRF in the News June 12, 2024 On Day Two of the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress 2024 held in Finland, Helsinki, the NRF, represented by Dr Nokuthula Mchunu, participated in a session themed Resilient Futures: Empowering communities on the frontlines of change. The session was organised by IISA and included the following speakers – Prof Pigga Keskitalo of the University of Lapland; Toby Wardman of SAPEA; Barbara Kreissler from IISA; and Prof Olli Varis of Alto University. The session discussed key challenges faced by different stakeholders and shared successful models for engagement in areas such as adaptation, resilience, and sustainable living. Collaboration, partnerships and networks were also identified as major drivers in the achievement of sustainable resilience both for communities and the scientific ecosystem. A big thank you goes to our session Chairs, Monika Bauer and Barbara Willaarts, for such a great session.
