wpadmin NRF in the News March 5, 2024 Scholarships to work toward your Master’s or PhD studies in the United States. The following opportunities are available: Visiting Student Researcher (VSR): VSRs conduct one year’s research at a U.S. institution toward their South African PhD studies. Current National Research Foundation (NRF) funded students are encouraged to apply. MA/PhD: Post-graduate students may apply for scholarships toward Master’s or Doctoral degrees. Scholarships are awarded for up to two years toward one degree – Master’s or Doctoral (renewable each year). Eligibility: Be a South African citizen or a permanent resident (minimum 5 years). For Non-Degree (Visiting Student Researcher) application: Must be registered for a PhD with a South African university. Have a four-year Bachelor’s degree, BTech degree or a three-year Bachelor’s degree plus honors year when applying for Master’s. Have a Master’s degree when applying for a Doctoral degree.
